The SLPP will field a presidential candidate capable of winning his camp and the country, said its MP Namal Rajapaksa.
He has told BBC Sinhala Service that many political leaders, business figures and entrepreneurs are now being promoted as presidential contenders.
Rajapaksa went on to say that he intended to go forward in politics after identifying and correcting the mistakes already committed.
