A female state counsel has been slightly injured in a knife attack near her home in Panadura on June 23.
According to the police, the assailant is a former Army soldier, with whom she has been having a love affair.
He had attacked and injured her as she has been avoiding him for some time.
A traffic policeman on duty at the nearby railway station too, sustained injuries when he attempted to arrest the man.
The assailant has been arrested and produced before courts.
