President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron met in Paris yesterday (23).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the head of state session of the Conference for a New Global Financial Agreement.
The two heads of state engaged in a cordial conversation.
Meeting with UN chief
President Wickremesinghe also held a bilateral meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
During the meeting, president Wickremesinghe apprised secretary general Guterres on the significant strides achieved in the process of economic recovery and the ongoing initiatives for debt restructuring.
Secretary general Guterres assured president Wickremesinghe of the UN’s strong commitment to assisting Sri Lanka in its economic recovery and debt sustainability endeavours.
