President Ranil Wickremesinghe has recommended the name of an academic to be appointed chairman of the Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL), said a top official at the Presidential Secretariat.
The Constitutional Council that meets tomorrow (20) will approve the nominee, who is a professor of the Peradeniya University, the official said.
Parliament has passed a resolution by majority vote to expel Janaka Ratnayake as the PUCSL chairman.
