Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP A.H.M. Fowzie says that instead of disciplining him, the party should serve its leader Sajith Premadasa with a charge-sheet for having gone against his own stand.
That is because Premadasa maintains the need for IMF support for the country, but rather than supporting, the party abstained at the vote on the resolution on the IMF’s extended fund facility, said Fowzie speaking to Neth News.
The appointed MP was the only SJB MP to support the resolution which was passed with a 95-vote majority.
The party has now decided to take disciplinary action against Fowzie for having opposed its decision.
