Several retired deputy election commissioners are to be appointed toserve in the Election Commission, highly placed government sources said.
The government and its members in the Constitutional Council have paid the matter top attention after several quarters have stressed the importance of having veteran officials in the commission.
With applications closing today (15) for qualified persons to apply for membership in independent commissions, several retired deputy election commissioners have applied for membership in the Election Commission, reports said.
