Senior journalist Dinith Chinthaka Karunaratne today (08) assumed duties as the Director General of Government Information.
A former student of Ananda College, Colombo and a biology graduate, he counts more than 30 years of experience as a journalist.
He has had higher studies on communication at Santa Monica University in California, USA.
Karunaratne assumed duties at the Government Information Department with Media Ministry secretary Anusha Pelpita, former Director General of Government Information Mohan Samaranayake and other top officials and media personalities present.
