President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the SLPP’s all-powerful Basil Rajapaksa had a meeting recently, it is reported.
The focus of their talks that lasted for around a hour was issues relating to the next presidential election.
Also discussed was the new party formed by Nimal Lanza.
The president’s chief of staff Sagala Ratnayaka too, was present at their meeting.
