This was one of the most anticipated films of the famous south Indian actor Rajinikanth for 2024 for several reasons.

Firstly, it sees his daughter / director Aishwarya Rajinikanth back in action after eight years, and more so that directs her father, the Superstar Rajinikanth. The movie includes stars such as Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, is a story that revolves around cricket and religion and how people in a village politicize a popular sport.

The first half of Lal Salaam revolves mostly around the village, its people and the relationship between Hindus and Muslims there. It narrates the rivalry between Thiru and Shamsu.

The second half picks up the pace and we see Rajinikanth unleash his power-packed performance. What’s interesting is that Rajinikanth, who plays Moideen bhai, is a controversial Muslim leader that brings about a different spin on the story.

Some of the dialogues that he exhibits his personal beliefs and are quite meaningful and profound in today’s times that will bring goosebumps-inducing moments, at times. In one particular scene, Moideen bhai says, “India is for Indians, and I am an Indian Muslim. I was born here, and I will die here! This is my home! We should not talk about caste or religion but humanity, and humanity is above all. Jai Hind.” Humanity above all is an aspect the Superstar has spoken about in real life as well.

This scene, Rajinikanth beautifully expresses the dual role as a father, who aspires for his son, and a community leader, as a person who believes that all people are one irrespective of religion or caste. His actions and even the fight scenes are not overacted. Rajinikanth is the true icon and the backbone of the movie, Lal Salaam.

The much-fancied AR Rahman’s music compliments the value for the film, combining both local and Sufi elements to amplify the two separate religions.

Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth has made a film that is significant in today’s political and social environment by having made a comeback to cinema with a bang as this movie will without doubt be much talked about in the movie enthusiast around the world.

The movie produced by LYCA Productions, a subsidiary of LYCA Group UK is shown at the most iconic SAVOY 3D CINEMAS, the largest theater circuit in the country.

Savoy 3D, the largest movie screen in the country with state-of-the-art visuals will transport a new dimension in story telling whilst offering a unique cinematic experience in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.
