It is a timely decision by the government to establish a new body called Enterprise Sri Lanka, said Shashika de Silva, chairperson of Ceylon Federation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Enterprise Sri Lanka will give a big boost for MSM enterprises, the backbone of the economy, by encouraging them and ensuring national and international markets for their produce, she noted.
The state has various institutions to provide a particular service, but what they do is far from satisfactory, she said.
Therefore, a single institution to promote everything relating to entrepreneurship is very appropriate, said de Silva.
The Ranil Wickremesinghe government has initiated various difficult economic reforms, which will reap beneficial dividends for the present as well as future generations, she added.
