Former female athlete Damayanthi Darsha and her family have migrated to Australia.
After retiring, she was one-time vice president of the Athletic Association.
Darsha has told the media that she decided to leave the country as athletic authorities did not make use of her expertise.
Being one who had made many sacrifices for athletics, I am worried that I cannot do anything for the local athletics, she said.
Darsha added that she had no intention of returning to Sri Lanka.
