Nineteen SJB MPs have so far been granted Rs. 1,200 million for decentralized development work on president Ranil Wickremesinghe’s instructions, ‘Sunday Mawbima’ reports.
The recipients are Kavinda Jayawardena, Ajith Mannapperuma, Dilip Wedarachchi, Faizal Cassim, Gayantha Karunatilake, H.M.M. Haaris, Harsha de Silva, Hector Appuhamy, Ishaq Rahuman, J.C. Alawathuwala, Sujith Sanjaya Perera, Kins Nelson, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Rajitha Senaratne, Rohini Wijeratne, Zaid Ali Zahir Moulana, Velu Kumar, W.H.M. Dharmasena and Risath Bathiudeen.
The secretary to the finance ministry has informed them to implement the projects as per provisions contained in the circular no. MF/02/2023 dated 29.12.2023.
Secretary to the president Saman Ekanayake too, has notified them similarly.
The spendings are to be recorded in accounts by the end of July this year.
A further four MPs from the party are waiting to receive Rs. 170 million.
