The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will announce a presidential candidate only after incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe declares if he runs for the post, said its leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
There is no truth to rumours the party will make the announcement before Wickremesinghe, deshaya.lk quoted Rajapaksa as saying.
There has been speculation the SLPP will announce a candidate on or near 17 June.
