The economic transformation bill that is presently before the House will have dangerous consequences, warned MP Prof. G.L. Peiris.
Speaking to the media in Colombo yesterday (27), he warned against adopting such a bill by a parliament that is without a public mandate.
Peiris said the government was planning to sell off profit-earning state enterprises in a hurry.
He added that it was unconstitutional to extend the president’s term through a referendum.
