Sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe has taken steps to create a dedicated fund to uplift sports and sports personnel.
At the same time, the effort will amuse the public courtesy three days of entertainment.
From 27 to 29 October, local and foreign celebrities will hold a series of shows at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
Proceeds will go to the sports upliftment fund.
That will be the first stage of the ‘1 Billion Goal’ initiative.
