A young photographer is planning to take the FSP party to court over the use of a photograph taken by him for a political propaganda purpose without his permission.

The FSP’s book ‘Mandira Kelambu Aragalaya’, in its cover page, has a well-known image of a woman with her infant at the Mirihana protest.

Chanuka Nadun Perera, who took the picture, said he has allowed its free use on numerous occasions by parties to the struggle.

However, the FSP has not sought his permission before using it on its book of a political nature, he charged.

Perera said the matter has been referred to his lawyers to take legal action against the persons who cannot maintain least of ethics by respecting copyright laws.
