President Ranil Wickremesinghe said an agricultural modernization task force will soon merge
the ministries of agriculture, plantations, irrigation and Mahaweli development.
The task force will include government and private sector representatives.
This merger, along with resources from nine provincial councils, aims to efficiently tackle agriculture-related issues, the President’s Media Division quoted him as saying.
