A young female activist of the FSP was injured and hospitalized after a protest in Borella town yesterday (28) came under a stone attack.
Police have been accused of throwing stones at the protestors.
Previously too, the girl named Rashmi Divyanjali was manhandled by the police during an agitation in Colombo in June 2021.
Media carried footage of her being thrown by policemen into a track.
The Centre for Labour Struggles staged yesterday‘s protest against the state’s repression of the working people.
It was initially to be staged near Colombo National Hospital, but a large presence of armed police and military personnel there forced the FSP to shift the protest to Borella.
During the agitation, police fired water cannons and teargas to disperse the protestors at Wanathamulla.
