The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has been informed about a prevention of the staging of a Tamil drama that depicts the average life of estate workers.

The estate management, together with the Army and the STF commandos disrupted ‘Layaththu Koligal’ at Kotiyagala estate in Bogawantalawa on 09 July.

Director of the drama Rasiah Loganathan complained to the HRCSL on 26 July and expressed fears for his life as a dramatist.

The estate management has admitted the army has inquired about the staging of a drama.

Director Loganathan spoke to the media in Colombo about the matter:
