Dr. Subash Abewickrama has been appointed as the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Sierra Leone by the Government of Sri Lanka.

This prestigious position is a testament to his exceptional skills and extensive experience in handling intergovernmental affairs with eloquence and expertise.

Dr. Abewickrama's career trajectory has been marked by remarkable progression, rising from the role of Assistant Superintendent in Planting to that of Chief Operating Officer and Director through his exceptional leadership and management skills.

He has also served as a Director of Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporations and Human Rights Organization, in addition to being a Visiting Lecturer at Peradeniya University in Sri Lanka.

Among his numerous academic achievements, Dr. Abewickrama holds multiple degrees and professional certifications, including a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Digital Marketing, an LLM, a Master of Business Administration in Finance, and two Doctorates in Business Administration, with a specialization in Strategic Management. He is also a Chartered Marketer and Chartered Manager.

Dr. Abewickrama received his primary education from Christ Church College Baddegama, which is a historic school that celebrated its 200th year of existence. His father, Somadasa Abewickrama, is a distinguished author and artist, while his late grandfather, Henry Abewickrama, served as an MP for Baddegama and a minister under both the governments of SWRD Bandaranaike and W. Dahanayaka. Additionally, his late elder grandfather, Simone Abeywickrama, was also an MP for Baddegama and a Junior Minister under the government of DS Senanayaka.
