Public security minister Tiran Alles has requested new recruits to the police service to be contributors to the country’s peace without falling victim to the corrupt.
He was addressing 189 sub inspectors, including 22 female officers, at their passing out parade at Police Training College in Kalutara on April 20.
Alles cautioned them against falling into maneuvers by the underworld and drug dealers and advised them to lead the public by example.
Parents and other family members of the new recruits, ministry secretary Vianni Gunatilake and IGP C.D. Wickramaratne also participated.
