The malfunctioned automated system of the Immigration and Emigration Department was restored by yesterday (09) afternoon, said its IT controller Champika Ramawickrama.
Accordingly, the issuance of passports has resumed.
Referring to the system malfunction, Ramawickrama said steps would be taken to prevent a recurrence.
