President Ranil Wickremesinghe has transferred three state institutions that were under him to the Ministry of Public Security of Tiran Alles by an extraordinary gazette.
The notification says the Department of Registration of Persons, Department of Immigration and Emigration and the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board would henceforth be under the purview of the Ministry of Public Security.
The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board was previously under the Ministry of Defence, while the Immigration and Emigration Department was under the Ministry of Investment Promotion and the Department of Registration of Persons was under the purview of the Ministry of Technology.
