President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed top UNP officials to visit their respective electorates and conduct campaigning for the presidential polls.
He told them not to stay in Colombo, but visit the people at their homes instead.
Wickremesinghe also instructed certain top officials to coordinate district level campaigning from the party headquarters.
Accordingly, deputy leader Ruwan Wijewardena will be in charge of Gampaha district, followed by chairman Wajira Abeywardena in Galle, national organizer Sagala Ratnayake in Colombo and Matara, deputy leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam in Kurunegala, national secretary Ravi Karunanayake in Colombo and the northern province, and treasurer Firdouse Farook in Mawanella.
Deputy general secretary Krishantha Theodore, Sirikoth CEO Shamal Senaratne and election operations chief Ronald Perera will be stationed at Sirikotha.
