Justice Minister Ali Sabri PC warned that the government's refusal to allow burials of Muslim COVID-19 victims is a dangerous situation that may lead to a resurgence of
extremism among Muslim youths.

He questioned as to why Sri Lanka has made an issue out of this even when the Maldives has allowed for the burial of COVID victims.

He pointed out that Prof. Malith Peiris, one of the world' leading pathologists and the Virology Chair at the University of Hong Kong, has refuted claims that the burial of dead bodies of COVID-19 victims could lead to the spread of the virus.

The Justice Minister made these observations in a discussion with 'Hari TV' YouTube channel.
