A joint operations committee that covers the entire Gampaha district has been formed to ensure the victory of incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe at the presidential polls.
Members of the SLPP, UNP, SLFP, MEP and other parties will be members of this committee representative at electorate level, said minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
Its responsibilities will be to visit the electorates, appoint polling booth agents, organize propaganda work etc.
Lasantha Alagiyawanne, Ruwan Wijewardena and other leaders of the affiliate parties attended a meeting to discuss the arrangements.
