The times of queues ended due to the contraction of the economy through an intentional curtailment of its growth, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
People were harassed and inconvenienced to achieve that, he said at a meeting of monks in Moneragala yesterday (10).
Premadasa said the queues should be ended by ensuring a better public life, and not by entering into pacts disadvantageous to the country.
He said he raised that at a meeting with IMF officials and noted that together with his smart and capable team, the SJB will go for an agreement that brings victory for the country.
