Party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa was against the SLPP’s fielding its own presidential candidate, said state minister Dilum Amunugama.
He made the claim while participating in 360 political talk show of Derana TV last night (05).
Two days before the politburo decided to field a candidate, Rajapaksa met with 30 MPs and declared that Wickremesinghe should be given support, said Amunugama.
