The National People's Power (NPP) will win between 120 and 130 seats at a general election to be held with the dissolution of parliament after the presidential polls, said its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
At that election, a large number of the youths from among the common people will get elected to parliament, he said.
Dissanayake was speaking at a youth rally of the party in Tangalle.
He said provincial councils and local government bodies too, were in need of young representatives in place of the outdated and corrupt system.
The NPP leader called for untiring work in the next four months to lay the groundwork for a new political culture before a presidential election is announced by the election commission.
