A newly-elected government will have to face a ‘huge mess’, said Samabima leader Deepthi Kumara Gunaratne.
He was speaking to Ideas Front YouTube channel with political analyst Vipula Karunatilake.
Both stressed the need for a cohesive programme to overcome weaknesses in the institutional mechanism, noting that state fiscal discipline was far from satisfactory.
Neither the Samagi Jana Balawegaya nor the National People's Power is with the knowledge or skills required for a transformational change.
Karunatilake said women’s contributions to the workforce should increase up to 80 per cent if state revenue is to see a growth.
