Youths will be ensured the opportunity to obtain a basic degree at the age of 21 years and go on to complete a postgraduate degree and a doctorate by the time they reach 23 and 27 years
respectively, said education minister Susil Premajayantha.
This will help them open up to the modern world, he said at the start of GCE advanced level classes at Nalanda College, Colombo yesterday (06).
The education system needs a change at a time when the world has gone past state administration and management to reach an era of leadership, he said.
The minister added that a question remains on the selection and practical use of knowledge in a society rich in the same.
