Northern province governor P.S.M. Charles has intervened for the opening of access roads to private land released by the Army following a presidential order 1 ½ months ago.
During his visit to Jaffna in March, president Ranil Wickremesinghe released 234.8 acres of land at Ottagapulam in Thelippalai to the Tamil owners.
Charles met military officials on 07 May and got two roads opened to allow owners to enter the land, said the provincial council website.
That was after she was told at a meeting on 30 April 30 that owners were allowed in the land only once between the presidential order and April end.
