The Japanese ambassador in Colombo Mizukoshi Hideaki has commended the Sri Lanka police for its ‘Yukthiya’ operation to eliminate drugs and crime.
He conveyed this appreciation when he met public security minister Tiran Alles at the latter’s office.
They discussed passport and visa issuance matters and national reconciliation.
Alles informed the envoy about the importance and the success of the ongoing community police committee programme.
The two agreed to meet again for further talks.
