A fresh call for justice has been made for 54 Tamils murdered 33 years ago in Tiriyaikerni in Ampara.
They were remembered at a recent event in front of a kovil, attended by relatives, friends and civil and political activists.
On the occasion, TNA MP T. Kalaiarasan said inhabitants of this village still live a difficult life.

It is alleged that Muslim paramilitaries hacked its villagers to death on 06 August 1990 and damaged the kovil.
There are claims that it was a retaliatory attack after several farmers were murdered at a paddy field at Alimankadu a few days earlier.
