Former Supreme Court judge L.T.B. Dehideniya is tipped to be appointed chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL), said sources in parliament.
The Constitutional Council, at a recent meeting, discussed the appointment at length.
Incumbent chief of the HRCSL is another ex-SC judge Rohini Marasinghe, who was appointed during the presidency of Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
