Businesswoman Thilini Priyamali has accused Ada Derana news alerts and certain other media of involvement in a campaign to falsify facts with regard her.

Priyamali’s comments came yesterday (05) after Colombo high court judge Aditya Patabendige took up a case against her.

She was absent at the hearing with her lawyer informing the court that she was warded at a private hospital in Colombo with illness.

The judge ordered Priyamali to be present with a medical report at the next hearing fixed for August 11.

Later, she responded to an Ada Derana news alert with regard to the court case.

Priyamali said a former lover of hers, Samith Anuruddha, has filed the case over the sale of a maroon-coloured Toyota Allion car owned by him.

She got a friend of hers, one Nihal of Senanayake Mawatha in Nawala, to sell the vehicle, but he had not given the Rs. 4.2 million received from its sale.

She said she offered to settle the matter by paying that amount to Anuruddha, but he insisted that he should get Rs. 6.8 million.

Priyamali said she did not appear for the court hearing, as she was not well.

She rejected Ada Derana news alert claim referring to a sum of Rs. Eight million, and questioned as to why it was falsifying facts.
