Deputy chairman of the ICC Imran Khawaja held talks yesterday (10) with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials and senior presidential advisor on national security and chief of presidential staff Sagala Ratnayaka.

Khawaja is in the island to inquire into allegations of political interference in SLC.

He met SLC’s executive committee members in the evening.

Khawaja is also due to have talks with sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe.

The ICC appointed a committee comprising Khawaja, India’s cricket board secretary Jay Shah and Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan to assess the allegations of political interference in SLC.
