The price of wheat flour remains unchanged despite the reintroduction of an import tariff of Rs. 3.00 per kg, said state minister of finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.

He told the media in Avissawella yesterday (07) that the enforcement of the tariff again is aimed at safeguarding the local paddy farmers.

With the appreciation of the rupee against the dollar, importers have no reason to increase the price, he stressed.
