The cabinet has given approval for public sector employees, who are candidates at the local government polls, to resume their jobs at their closest LG constituency except the one they are contesting.
The decision has been taken in view of the observations made by the Election Commission with regard to their jobs until the election is held.
State minister of provincial councils and local government Janaka Wakkumbura said the EC has also recommended the payment of their salaries and allowances.
