The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has received no dividends at all from a Rs. 500 million investment in an aviation company, said chairman of the sectoral committee on economic crisis, Gamini Waleboda.

He described this investment as being arbitrary and indiscriminating.

This is just one case of no returns of EPF investment, said the MP.

In all, it has invested Rs. 7,380 million in 11 listed companies, without gaining any dividends whatsoever, according to Committee on Public Accounts reports.

Waleboda urged the government to immediately halt the practice of investing public money in unproductive ventures.
