Police are investigating a disappearance of Rs. five million from the vault of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Superintendent of the Forensic Finance Department of the Central Bank A. R. Mr. Dayananda has made the complaint about the missing money.

Colombo Fort Police have recorded statements from around 15 people who worked in that department.

Also, police have obtained CCTV footage and are investigating through them.

According to the complaint, the bundle of money had gone missing from a shelf on the third floor of the bank building.

It is equipped with state-of-the-art security cameras and is located in a high security area.
