Incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe has been proposed to be the SLPP’scandidate at the next presidential election, said power and energy minister Kanchana Wijesekara.
Joining TV Derana’s 360 Programme last night (03), Wijesekara said a majority of party MPs want Wickremesinghe to be the president again.
He said he personally did not see anything wrong in that choice.

Meanwhile, senior UNP leader Ravi Karunanayake said Wickremesinghe should be elected president at the next presidential polls to rebuild the country.
He was speaking during a meeting with businesspersons at his home last Sunday.
