The delimitation commission will hand over its final report on local government bodies to subject minister, premier Dinesh Gunawardena, this week, said its chairman Mahinda Deshapriya.
The commission needs additional time to finalise the task after having completed its tenure on March 31, he said.
The more than 8,000 LG bodies members have now been reduced to 4,800, Deshapriya also said.
