Chandima Weerakkody was the only lawmaker to have voted in favour of a regulation to hold Law College examinations in the English medium only.
At a House vote today (21), the gazette notification in this regard was supported only by him, while 113 opposed.
That was after opposition leader Sajith Premadasa called for a vote on a matter that had been raised by several quarters with the justice minister.
Elected on the SLPP ticket, Weerakkody functions independently in parliament.
