The United National Party (UNP) is to entertain views and suggestions from the public for a new party constitution it is going to formulate.
It is on a decision by a panel of president’s counsels appointed by the party’s working committee to formulate a draft constitution.
Chairman of the panel is Thilak Marapana, with Nissanka Nanayakkara, Daya Pelpola and Roland Perera as the other members.
WC members, district heads and authorized representatives as well as chairmen and secretaries of party affiliates have been notified in writing in this regard.
Nanayakkar, secretary of the panel, has asked them to submit the proposals to the UNP’s legal division at Sirikotha before March 31.
