Nuwara Eliya tea factory gutted in fire

A two-story tea factory at Kandapola in Nuwara Eliya was gutted in a fire around 2.00 am yesterday (18).

The unoccupied building was housing more than 30,000 kgs of tea at the time.

The losses are yet to be estimated.

Kandapola police are investigating.

Meanwhile, a social media activist has claimed it to be an arson attack and commented on the motives of the perpetrators.
