Lawyer Nuwan Bopage has obtained an assurance before courts from the registrar general of persons to mention his race as Sri Lankan in the birth certificate of his son.
Appeal court judge Lafar Thahir yesterday (10) took up a writ petition filed by Bopage that challenged the office of registrar general’s refusal to do so previously.
With the agreement reached, the case’s hearing concluded.
