A number of administrative issueshave cropped up as a result of the postponement of the local government polls, the Election Commission was told yesterday (28).
EC chairman Nimal Punchihewa met returning officers and other election officials, who raised these matters, mainly relating to land.
He said permission would be granted to hold land kachcheris with the participation of officials and the claimantsonly. He disputed allegations the LGpolls had been arranged without proper planning.
