A nonstop struggle has entered its seventh year to demand justice for the Tamils who have gone missing since their surrender or abduction by the military.

A protest march by hundreds of people has taken place from Kandasamy Kovil to Depot Junction in Kilinochchi to mark the milestone.

It is Sri Lanka’s longest running agitation, during which 160 parents have died without knowing the fate of their loved ones.

Rejecting a Rs. 200,000 compensation offered by the government, protestors say they are prepared to pay Rs. 2.5 million for each of the victims of war, if found.
