Social media activist Darshana Handungoda was arrested by the CID at the Katunayake airport last night (05) as he returned from Dubai.
Police sources said Handungoda had left the country without assisting in investigations into claims that he had helped protestors to storm Temple Trees on May 09.
The CID has already questioned him several times and summoned again, when it transpired that he was abroad.
Handungoda had informed police that he would present himself at the CID upon his return.
His YouTube channel ‘SL Deshaya’ discusses sociopolitical issues and makes numerous revelations.
